US Mortgage Rate Ease to 6.65%
On March 27th, the average rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage backed by Freddie Mac decreased slightly to 6.65%, following an upward trend over the past three weeks. "This week, the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage saw a minor decrease of two basis points. The recent steadiness in mortgage rates is advantageous for potential buyers this spring, as indicated by the increase in purchase applications," stated Sam Khater, Chief Economist at Freddie Mac.
