Argentina Economic Activity Expands for 4th Month
Argentina's economic activity experienced a year-on-year increase of 5.7% in February 2025, following an upwardly revised growth of 6.7% in January. This marked the fourth consecutive month of expansion. The rate of growth moderated due to slower performance in several sectors, including mining and quarrying, which grew by 5.0% compared to January's 8.7%, utilities with a growth of 1.1% down from 6.5%, and manufacturing, which saw a 5.0% rise compared to 6.2% previously. Conversely, some sectors showed accelerated activity: agriculture improved to 2.1% from 0.7%, financial services surged to 30.2% from 25.7%, and construction rose to 4.0% from 1.9%. Meanwhile, the transportation sector maintained stable growth at 3.3%. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the output increased by 0.8%, while the trend-cycle indicator showed a rise of 0.7%.
