Estonian Producer Inflation Eases Significantly
In March 2025, Estonia experienced a 2.8% year-over-year increase in producer prices, signaling a significant deceleration from the 6.1% growth seen in the previous month, which had been the most pronounced rise since March 2023. The moderation in prices was observed across several sectors: mining and quarrying saw a decrease to 3.6% from 4.0% in February; electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning dropped substantially to 12.3% from 53.3%; and manufacturing eased to 1.9% from 2.3%. Conversely, prices for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities experienced a slight acceleration, rising to 9.1% from 8.8%. On a month-to-month basis, the Producer Price Index (PPI) fell by 3.5%, a reversal from the 3.3% increase registered in February, marking the first decline in four months.
