In February 2025, Greece experienced a slight year-on-year decline in industrial production, registering a decrease of 0.1%. This followed a revised increase of 2.7% in January, marking the first downturn since October 2024. The decline was driven by a significant drop in electricity supply, which fell by 5.2%, compared to a 4.3% rise in January. Manufacturing output also slowed, increasing by only 0.9%, down from January’s 2.3%, and water supply growth decelerated to 2.2% from 4.3%. In contrast, the mining and quarrying sector showed a strong recovery, with output increasing by 4.5% after having decreased by 3.6% previously. On a month-to-month basis and when adjusted for seasonal variations, industrial activity fell by 3.3% in February, following a 0.3% decline in the previous month.
