Irish Jobless Rate Up from All-Time Low

In March 2025, Ireland observed a seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 4%, marking a slight uptick from February's historically low figure of 3.9%. The number of unemployed individuals increased by 1,900 compared to the previous month, reaching a total of 114,800 in March. Breaking this down by gender, unemployment rose to 59,000 for men and 55,800 for women, up from February's figures of 58,200 and 54,700, respectively. Annually, however, the unemployment rate showed a decline from 4.3% in March the previous year to 4% this March. For those aged between 25 and 74, the unemployment rate experienced a minor increase, rising to 2.9% in March from 2.8% in February.
