Japan Foreign Reserves Hit 11-Month High
Japan's foreign reserves saw a significant rise of $19.23 billion, reaching $1.27 trillion in March 2025, marking the highest point since April of the previous year. The composition of these total reserve assets includes foreign currency reserves amounting to $1.1 trillion, an IMF reserve position valued at $10,265 million, Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) standing at $58,537 million, gold holdings totaling $84,728 million, and other reserve assets accounted for at $15,641 million. According to a recent report by Japan's finance ministry, there were no foreign exchange interventions carried out between October and December 2024.
