Argentina Current Account Swings to Deficit in Q2
In the second quarter of 2025, Argentina reported a current account deficit of $3.016 billion, a significant shift from the $3.732 billion surplus noted in the same period the previous year. The goods account experienced a surplus of $2.668 billion, a decline from the $7.109 billion surplus recorded in Q2 of 2024. The deficit in the primary income account expanded to $4.080 billion, compared to $3.041 billion previously. In contrast, the services account saw its deficit increase, reaching $2.483 billion from $1.136 billion a year prior. Notably, the secondary income account showed improvement, with the surplus rising to $879 million up from $799 million in the equivalent period last year.
