Chile’s IMACEC Growth Slows to 1.8% in July
In July 2025, Chile's economic activity index, IMACEC, experienced a 1.8% increase compared to the previous year, marking a deceleration from June's 3% rise. This growth was largely propelled by the services and trade sectors, though dampened by diminished mining output. Trade saw a robust expansion of 6.6%, primarily driven by wholesale and retail activities, while services increased by 2.6%, thanks largely to business and personal services, particularly in the health sector. In contrast, goods production declined by 0.9%, with a notable 3.3% decrease in mining due to reduced extraction of copper, iron, and lithium. Additionally, other goods fell by 0.3% amid lower electricity generation. Analyzing the data on a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, there was a 1% growth from June.
