Kazakhstan’s industrial production increased by 4.2% year-on-year in March 2025, up from a 3.2% rise in February, largely supported by sustained momentum in the manufacturing sector (13.6% vs. 13.1% in February). At the same time, the decline in mining and quarrying eased to -5.6% from -8.0%, and the contraction in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water, and air conditioning also became less severe (-5.7% vs. -8.2%). In contrast, output growth in water supply, waste collection and treatment, and pollution control slowed markedly to 7.7% from 26.8%. On a monthly basis, overall industrial output growth decelerated to 16.2% in March from 24.5% in February. Over the first quarter of 2026, industrial production slipped by 0.7% compared with the same period a year earlier.
