Japan will release December's current account information, along with January's data for bank lending and the Eco Watchers Survey. In November, the current account surplus stood at 3.353 trillion yen; in December, bank lending grew by an annual rate of 3.1%. The Eco Watchers Survey, reflecting current conditions, recorded a score of 49.9.
Malaysia will announce its unemployment figures for December, with the previous jobless rate reported at 3.2% in November.
