Additionally, Sainsbury's shares increased by over 3% after the company reported its earnings. Conversely, Fresnillo's shares fell by 5.5%, a downward adjustment attributed to investors capitalizing on recent gains after a surge in bullion prices had elevated the company's share price to nearly a four-year peak earlier this week. Fresnillo is scheduled to release its trading update next week. Notably, the London Stock Exchange will remain closed for a long weekend, resuming business on Tuesday.
