Lithuania's Current Account Surplus Narrows Sharply in February

In February 2025, Lithuania's current account surplus experienced a significant contraction, decreasing to EUR 2.88 million from EUR 232.97 million in the same month of the previous year. This decline was predominantly driven by an expanding goods account deficit, which increased to EUR 638.68 million compared to EUR 325.36 million the year prior. The services account surplus saw a slight reduction, edging down to EUR 727.41 million from EUR 731.52 million. Conversely, there was an improvement in the primary income shortfall, which narrowed to EUR 96.81 million from EUR 135.41 million. Additionally, the secondary income balance transitioned from a deficit of EUR 37.78 million to a surplus of EUR 10.96 million.
