Montenegro Inflation Rate Slows to 3-Month Low

In March 2025, Montenegro experienced a decrease in its annual inflation rate, which fell to 2.6%, down from 2.8% in February. This represents the lowest inflation rate since December 2024. The decline in inflation is attributed to reduced price growth in several sectors including furnishings, household equipment, and routine maintenance, which eased to 3.5% from 4.6% the previous month. Communication costs also saw a significant reduction, dropping to 1.8% from 6.3%, while prices for recreation and culture moderated to 6.3% from 7.4%. Conversely, some sectors experienced a decline in costs, notably clothing and footwear, which fell to -0.8% from 0.2%, and transport, which decreased to -0.7% from 1.4%. On the other hand, prices rose in food and non-alcoholic beverages, increasing to 1% from 0.7%, health services soared to 10% from 6.7%, and charges in restaurants and hotels climbed to 8.6% from 6.6%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices increased by 0.3% in March, following a 0.4% rise observed in the prior period.
