Hungary's trade surplus in September 2025 declined to EUR 589 million from EUR 886 million in the same month the previous year. Despite this decrease, the figure still surpassed market expectations of EUR 557 million. This change was due to exports increasing at a slower rate than imports. Compared to the previous year, exports rose by 4.9% to reach EUR 13,124 million, while imports climbed by 7.8% to EUR 12,535 million. Over the initial nine months of 2025, Hungary's trade surplus expanded to EUR 7,780 million, compared to EUR 7,079 million during the corresponding timeframe of the prior year.
