The BSE Sensex increased by 151 points, or 0.2%, reaching 84,779 in early trading on Wednesday, rebounding from the losses witnessed in the previous session. This upward movement followed a rally on Wall Street, buoyed by robust corporate earnings, continued enthusiasm for AI, and anticipation of a Federal Reserve interest rate cut expected later in the day. Positive expectations surrounding a potential trade agreement between the US and China also boosted market sentiment ahead of Thursday’s anticipated meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Additionally, favorable Q2 earnings reports and ongoing foreign fund inflows provided further support. Leading the market gains were the metal sector, which advanced by 1.7%, followed by oil & gas at 1.3%, and pharmaceuticals at 0.6%. Notable early gainers included JSW Steel, rising 2.8%, Tata Steel at 2.3%, NTPC at 1.2%, Asian Paints at 0.7%, and Larsen & Toubro at 0.6%. In parallel, Adani Green saw a significant surge of 4.5% following the release of its Q2 profit report, which more than doubled.
